Sindh Government Minority Students Scholarships Programme

Sindh Government launches scholarship programme for minority students on Talent and Needy based. Special Assistant to Chief Minister of Sindh for Minority Affairs Dr Khatu Mal Jeevan has said that the launching of ‘Shaheed Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto Scholarship for Students of Minority Community’ is an exceptional step taken by the government for providing equal opportunities to aspirants, adding that this year Rs 35 million cheques will be distributed among 2400 talented and needy students completely on merit.

He gave this statement while addressing a ceremony organized to distribute scholarship cheques among the aspirates belonging to Karachi division. Khatu Mal called it a proud moment for him as well as for the government.

He said that the government of Pakistan Peoples Party’s was taking the vision of Shaheed Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto vision forward under the supervision of Asif Ali Zardari and control of chairperson  of Pakistan people’s party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

Khatu Mal said that 400 aspirants will get cheques during the ceremony. In the second stage, 1600 aspirants of Hyderabad and MirpurKhas divisions will be granted scholarships in Hyderabad whereas in the third stage 400 aspirants of Sukkur, Larkana and Shaheed Benazirabad divisions will be granted scholarship cheques in a ceremony which would be organized in Sukkur.

“This scholarship would be granted to the candidates every year and a number of scholarships would be increased phase-wise to accommodate more and more candidates,” he added.

He furthermore added that the government of Sindh was already running scholarship programmes for bright as well as for the deserving aspirants of the province under the Sindh Education Department’s Endowment Fund for chasing higher education and a large number of aspirants from minority community had benefited from the opportunity.
