Prime Minister’s Fee Reimbursement Scheme PMRFS for Less Developed Areas (Selected Regions). The Scheme was approved in June 2012 by the Government and was initially designed to reimburse tuition fees and on and off mandatory charges for the students of Punjab, Sindh Balochistan, FATA and Gilgit Baltistan admitted on merit in Masters/MPhil /PhD in any public sector degree awarding institution. In 2013, it has been made an integral part of Prime Minister’s Youth Program. The scope of the Program has been increased since then and now 114 districts of Pakistan are eligible under the Scheme.

Prime Minister Youth Programme declared PM Fee Reimbursement Scheme for Less Developed areas 2017-2018 has been announced in latest advertisement in March month. This Scheme covers 114 less developed Districts of Pakistan benefiting 108036 students and around 5 billion rupees of Scholarships. All eligible candidates will avail Full Tuition Fee, Registration Fee, Admission Fee & Other Education Expenditure during studies.

Aimed at encouraging pursuit of higher education by students from less developed areas through financing of their tuition fees paid directly to universities.  Upfront payment of tuition fees directly to the universities at the time of admission by the deserving students has been started from Spring 2015 semester.PMFRS PhD Students Registration Online

Financial Coverage of the Scheme:

  1. Actual Tuition Fee (of Masters , MS/MPhil and PhD programs)
  2. On and Off Mandatory charges which includes Registration Fee/Enrollment Fee, Admission fee (For new admissions only), Examination Fee, Library charges(non-refundable), Laboratory charges, Research related academic activities only.
  3. Non study related heads like transport fee, hostel fee, Sports fee, Endowment Fund, Equipment Fee, Health Fee or Any Refundable dues will not be paid.
