Cardiff University is pleased to offer scholarships to undertake MSc programme in Physics/Astrophysics. Scholarships are awarded to students of any nationality.

The overarching aim of establishing the Cardiff University was to transform the public higher education to improve quality and efficiency of teaching and learning, creating a world-class higher learning institution.

Cardiff is established as one of Britain’s leading universities. Its ambition is to be among the top 100 universities in the world and top 20 in the UK.

Applicants must hold a 2:1 in a relevant subject. Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate proficiency in the English language (IELTS 6.5 or equivalent).

Scholarships are available for pursuing MSc programme.

Study Subject:

Scholarships are awarded in the field of Physics/Astrophysics.

Scholarship Award:

The awards are available for students on either programme, to a value of £3875 and will be allocated on a competitive basis. This award can be used in conjunction with other funding sources, including the Master’s Excellence Scholarship awards offered by Cardiff University. We are pleased to announce that the Taught Master’s Excellence Scholarship Scheme for 2018/19 entry has been confirmed.

If you’re applying for a UK Government postgraduate loan then you are still eligible to apply for a Master’s Excellence Scholarship.

We are committed to investing up to a total of £500,000 in this high value competitive scholarship scheme to support home and EU students who are planning to start an eligible master’s programme in September 2018.

The Scholarships are each worth a minimum of £3,000 and will be awarded in the form of a tuition fee discount.

How to apply

The deadlines for applications for the scholarships for 2018/19 are as follows:

  • Wednesday 7 March 2018
  • Wednesday 4 July 2018.

Before being able to access the Applicant Portal, you will need to have submitted your programme application, after which you will receive new login details for the Applicant Portal.

Value and programmes

Eligible programmes include full-time and part-time programmes leading to a master’s. Not included are our distance learning programmes and taught programmes leading to a postgraduate certificate, postgraduate diploma, as well as research master’s such as the MPhil and MRes.
