Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) has announced that it will train 15,000 Pakistani students in the Chinese language course during one year.
China will send its master trainers to teach Chinese language in Tevta institutes. These trainers will teach Chinese language classes to general public in major cities across the province of the Punjab and business sector’s executives at Lahore.In this regard, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) and Pak-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) here at Tevta Secretariat. Chief Operating Officer Tevta Jawad Ahmed Qureshi and Vice-President PCJCCI Salah-ud-Din signed the MoU.
Tevta Chairperson Irfan Qaiser Sheikh, President Pak-China Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCJCCI) Wang Ziha, Tevta officers Aamer Aziz, Akhtar Abbas Bharwana, Uzma Nadia, Umber Chattha and other officers were also present on this occasion.
According to the details of MoU, Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said that with the establishment of CPEC, Chinese language was mandatory for all our youths and business community. In first phase, master trainers are being invited for limited time period and after that services of Chinese experts will be extended. This initiative will promote technical education and vocational training especially in economic sector across the province of the Punjab.
Tevta chairperson said that as per vision of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, we are giving latest vocational training to provide best manpower in different sectors across the province of the Punjab.
Tevta will training 12,000 people in this language courses across the province of the Punjab. In first phase, this course was started in Lahore and now it has been launched in major cities. Purpose to start this language programme in other cities is to make the already trained skilled labour force of Pakistan more acceptable in the Chinese market. He was confident that Pakistan can attract Chinese manufacturing sector by developing a trained workforce for industries all over the world.
TEVTA Chinese Language Courses 2017, On the demand of youth, Chinese language classes are being started in the other cities of Punjab from November 2016 including Gujrat, Sheikhupura, Okara, Kasur, Sahiwal, Taxila, Sargodha, Layyah, Khanewal, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan and D.G.Khan. At present, these classes are successfully functioning at Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Multan and Rawalpindi.

According to the TEVTA, Chinese investors urgently need Pakistani youth and the Pakistanis who are the expert in the Chinese language. While keeping in view this objective, TEVTA is spreading these classes in 18 cities of the province.
After successful functioning, classes of Chinese language course will also be organized to start in other major cities of the province in next phase because the youth of other cities are also approaching TEVTA in this regard. TEVTA claims that this course is helpful for the Pakistani youth who may intend to get the jobs in Chinese companies working in Pakistan.
The eligibility of this language program is the certificate of matriculation, and the purpose of starting this course is to make the already trained skilled labor force of Pakistan more acceptable in the Chinese market.
